Superheros, Away!
Welcome to the second day of the middle school camp! Hope you girls are enjoying yourselves!
Yesterday we started of with a few activities to break the ice. Glad to see all the Batman fans out there!
Once we finished learning everyone's awesome names, we came back inside. After the girls finished the survey, they made awesome name tags and name plates. They learned all about computer science!
After their CS lesson, the girls set up their blogs and started blogging about their day! We had amazing sandwiches for lunch, and came back to learn about SNAP! The girls got started on making an awesome game about searching for love! Sigh, so romantic =P The girls worked until it was just about time to go. Before they left we handed them awesome bags with cool shwag in it ;)
Today we started the day off with a naming activity. Basically, the girls had to say their name and do an action, and the next girl had to repeat the first girls name and action and continue down the line until they got to themselves, and then the next girl would have to do it. To ensure that it didn't take too long, the girls were split up into 4 groups and went through the activity. Some of the groups finished early, and they played other games until it was time to go inside.
When everyone was back inside, we got started on SNAP! The girls continued working on their games, and they finished with enough time to test out a friend's game. Once everyone had finished, it was time for the peanut butter and jelly challenge! Every girl had to write out instructions for how to make a PB&J, and they were put to the test to see who could create the best PB&J.
After lunch we wanted to know a little about how our campers like to learn with this survey:
Learning Styles Survey
Blog prompt: If you could have any superpower, what would it be? What would be your super hero name, and costume?
