FYI: Today is National Eat Your Veggies Day!

Strategically created in the middle of National Fresh Fruit and Vegetables Month,
this day is the perfect opportunity to re-introduce a healthy portion of vegetables into your diet.
No doubt about it, Eat Your Vegetables Day was created to promote a more healthy diet.......for life!

MORNING UPDATE:
We began the day with a friendly game of Spoons.
Every player began with a single spoon and ball.
The objective is to place the ball on the spoon and try to be the last player standing with their ball on the spoon. The challenging part is that players can knock of opponents balls, but  take some CAUTION!!! You can knock off yours in an attempted attack!

After Spoons, Noor led everyone on how to create an exciting webpage using HTML.

She taught about changing the layout, adding borders and making text be different sizes, fonts, and color.

Using all the techniques Noor taught can lead to an amazing webpage!!! !
The requirements are at the bottom of this page...

Blog Prompt: If you could change the world by developing a device using computer science, what would it be and how would it change the world we live in? Describe it in one paragraph.

SP - I would develop a way to combine biology, physics, chemistry, psychology and computer science so that a device could be created to stream thoughts instantaneously to other people. The design of the device would be small and made of some material that latches on to other materials easily. The placement of the device would not matter as long as it is touching your skin. For instance, you could place it on the inside of your watch or on an earring. If you are wearing the device then it is on, else it is not streaming and off. This would change the world because you could communicate faster than our current technology and also would help others see perspectives that are not their own. This might help broaden the spectrum of understanding and prevent miscommunication between parties. :)) Weird idea, but just a thought I am slowly streaming your way!

SUSI- Something that really bothers me is when restaurants and grocery places throw out food. It is for safety and such and illegal for them to donate it, but I would create a device that can track the available food, keep all the information, and allow restaurants and charities to communicate effectively and be able to coordinate to get food that is meeting the FDA requirements to people that could use it. Having a device that keeps track of everything would make it easier to transport, meet the proper regulations, and track the food and produce.

NOOR- I have already done this! I developed multimodal tools to help special education students learn basic arithmetic. I made a digital number line and a dance mat used with a software that was similar to a game. It helped the students increase their attention span and learning retention by 80%. I'm really proud of my accomplishments. I want to make them be used all over the world. Education is the most important skill anyone can have.

At the end of each day of camp, we encourage our students to fill out a small survey so that we can better craft an amazing camp experience. The survey for today can be found here!
