The meme says it all…
I ask you, where did all this memeing come from? 

The term “meme” was originally coined by a man named Richard Dawkins in a book called, The Selfish Gene in 1976. He essentially used it in the way to describe information that passes through culture.

Internet memes are described as a “hijacking of the original idea” that spread like a virus through the media.
