It’s Wednesday! Don’t be scared…
Halloween came early today!
And Computer Science projects came with it!

Did you know? Trick-or-treating is a process that probably descended from the medieval
custom of souling. Souling was when soulers (usually beggars or children) would go door
to door on All Hallow’s Eve and offer to pray for a family’s ancestors or spiritual guardians
in exchange for a soul cake. Some countries still follow this tradition today – what those
soul cakes (sometimes just called souls) look like is pictured on the right.

This was made using an Arduino!
Did you know? A programmer named Nathan (known online as Nathan of HahaBird)
took a pumpkin and created a playable Tetris game with it! He used some LED lights,
an Arduino board, and drilling and soldering to create this masterpiece. Lights flash down
the pumpkin in randomized patterns of Tetris blocks which can be moved around using
the stem/joystick of the pumpkin. The pumpkin game itself is called “Pumpktris” and it
took Nathan about 12 hours to make and code. This guy went all the way!
