Coding Beyond Camp!!!

Summer Camp may be over for most, but CODING never ends!!

During the last four weeks of summer camp, Young Women in Computing taught a variety of platforms that focused on young women straying from drag and drop programming to more industry and applicable platforms. Some of the platforms covered were:

  • HTML
  • Java in Greenfoot
  • Lilipad Arduino
  • Ruby
  • Python
  • LiveCode

Some of the cool projects range from a Spongebob game in Greenfoot to Arduino Bags that had speaker, button and light capability. An example is a Batman and Robin bag that played the 1991 theme song and a Pixar inspired UP bag that had LED balloons and played the UP song.. Pretty cool!!!

So Remember to visit YWiC's Website to keep up programming!! Most of the platforms used were open source and free....

Aristotle once said " No great genius has ever existed without some touch of madness!!!
