What an Incredible Summer!

This summer was the BEST summer we've EVER had! Wow! 

We were honored to host the most amazing collection of young women. 

From June 2, all the way through July 19, we were so proud and excited to meet and get to know INCREDIBLE young women in NM - from north to south, and east to west.



Details for the Summer of 2014:

  • 136 Young women
  • Age span: 9 - 18 years old
  • 55 Schools 
  • 24 Cities represented from NM, TX, and AZ
  • 5 Weeks of camp
  • 15 Computer science platforms of instruction
  • Over 125 hours of project development and design, teaching, and hands-on learning
  • 10 hours of participant presentations and family open houses
  • 43 meals provided (serving 2,427 total!)
  • Stipends paid to participants
  • 37 Instructors, workshop presenters, and counselors participated throughout the summer
  • 15 restaurants and food providers utilized
  • 5 Incredible summer camp videos created by our outstanding YWiC Team!

We are grateful to all of the young women willing to share their time with us learning how to code, never giving in or up while figuring out how to overcome obstacles, discovering ways to solve problems, and believing in themselves! 


It was incredible to watch the confidence of participants grow from day 1 to day 3 of camp. Walking with young women as they blossom and begin to engage and discover their own potential, is simply one of the most rewarding experiences possible. 





Thank you parents for sharing your young women with us and for supporting them in their pursuit to learn computer science principles, concepts, coding and programming languages, and embracing the creativity needed to come back for more, every single day.
